Evening and Weekend Appointments

We offer a range of NHS urgent and routine appointments on weekday evenings and at weekends through hubs across Sheffield All sites are existing GP surgeries and are staffed by Sheffield GPs and other practice staff.

The services available include urgent appointments with a GP and practice nurse appointments for routine services such as blood pressure checks, removal of stitches, dressing changes, asthma reviews/checks, diabetes reviews/checks, ear syringing, smears and blood tests.

We also offer physio assessments for musculoskeletal pain.

Hub appointments can be booked through your usual GP practice or by contacting 111 when your GP practice is closed.

Sheffield Walk-In Centre for adults & children

Located at the Sheffield City GP Health Centre, Rockingham House, Broad Lane, S1 3PB. The NHS Walk in Centre is open from 8am to 10 pm 265 days per year. Members of the public can walk-in as an unregistered patient and see a nurse or GP without an appointment for a range of minor illnesses and ailments.

The walk in centre cannot deal with long term conditions that are managed by your own GP, injuries requiring X Ray, Sick notes, Dental Problems, Ear Syringing, dressings or prescriptions.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Sheffield Minor Injuries Unit – adults (over 16) only

Located on B Floor, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, S10 2JF. Open 8am – 8pm. No appointment necessary. Tel 0114 2712071.

The Minor Injuries Unit provides non-life threatening injuries or illnesses such as sprains & strains, wound infections, minor burns & scalds, insect & animal bites, Rib injuries. They also treat minor eye injuries after 4:30pm during week days and anytime over the weekend.

The unit cannot treat injuries to the chest, back or bone injuries to the hips or thighs.

An emergency is a situation where someone is experiencing a loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding, suspected broken bones, chest pain, breathing difficulties, an overdose, has swallowed something harmful, poisoning or has a deep wound.
